Netflix Unveils Cast for New Limited Series Adaptation of Pride and Prejudice

Netflix has officially begun production in the UK on its upcoming six-part limited series Pride and Prejudice, based on the beloved novel by Jane Austen. The streaming giant has revealed the full ensemble cast, promising a faithful retelling with a fresh mix of established and rising talent.

Leading the series are The Crown’s Emma Corrin as the sharp and spirited Elizabeth Bennet and Slow Horses star Jack Lowden as the enigmatic Mr. Darcy. Olivia Colman brings her award-winning prowess to the role of the excitable and socially ambitious Mrs. Bennet, while Rufus Sewell (The Diplomat) takes on the quiet yet wise Mr. Bennet.

Joining them as the Bennet sisters are Freya Mavor (Industry) as the gentle Jane, Heartstopper’s Rhea Norwood as the impulsive Lydia, and newcomers Hollie Avery and Hopey Parish portraying Kitty and Mary respectively—both making their television debuts.

Louis Partridge (Disclaimer) is cast as the charismatic but duplicitous Mr. Wickham, and Jamie Demetriou (Stath Lets Flats) lends his comedic touch to the role of the awkward Mr. Collins. Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve) steps into the commanding role of Lady Catherine de Bourgh. Daryl McCormack (Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery) plays the charming Mr. Bingley, while Siena Kelly (Black Mirror) will portray his haughty sister, Caroline Bingley.

Rounding out the supporting cast are Anjana Vasan (We Are Lady Parts) and Sebastian Armesto (Gangs of London) as the Gardiners, Rosie Cavaliero (KAOS) as Lady Lucas, and Saffron Coomber (Three Little Birds) with James Dryden (Time Bandits) as Mr. and Mrs. Hurst. Additional cast includes Justin Edwards (The Franchise) as Sir William Lucas, James Northcote (Fool Me Once) as Colonel Forster, Eloise Webb (The Queen’s Gambit) as Harriet Forster, and Isabella Sermon (Jurassic World: Dominion) as Georgiana Darcy.

The adaptation is penned by acclaimed writer Dolly Alderton and helmed by director Euros Lyn (Heartstopper, Sherlock). Both serve as executive producers alongside Emma Corrin, Laura Lankester, Will Johnston, and Louise Mutter from Lookout Point. Lisa Osborne is producing.

This upcoming version of Pride and Prejudice is touted as a true-to-text adaptation with contemporary resonance, promising new emotional depth and wit for modern audiences.

Notably, Hopey Parish, who portrays Mary Bennet, is a recent graduate of the Manchester School of Acting, and Hollie Avery, playing Kitty, is a 2024 alumna of LAMDA—both making promising debuts in this high-profile production.

Netflix marked the start of filming with a first-look image featuring Olivia Colman as Mrs. Bennet alongside the five Bennet sisters, setting the tone for what is expected to be a standout period drama.
